Can someone tell me more or less what BTS's are and how I get to them
and use them? Thank  you.

The BTS preset are specials presets using riff with 16 parts ( also the kit rythm riff use 4 or 5 part ).
So to use them you have to go in the controller edit menu and select trigger playing beats ( or riffs it's the same thing ).
 
After go in the arp edit menu and go to the screen that show BTS select the channel you want to play and the mode you want ( preset or master : if you choose master stay in the same menu and select the master beat you want; if you select preset ( P) go in the preset edit in the section arp/riff to select the riff or beat you want).
 
After you can create your own beats or riff preset using range in the layer for example ( in fact just assign other songs to the riff)  but you couldn't change the rythm of that user bts.
 
The best thing you have to do if you want to known more about riff and beats parts is to learn the addendum manuel os version 1.31 it is quite clear and learn you how to add funny variations.
