Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

If I edit a sound on a rom,and save it to user memory,
will it remain as is in its user memory slot, even if I remove
the original rom board. The reason I ask is that I now have five
roms. With only four slots, one has to go, but can I save some of its
sounds?
A reply from anyone out there would be appreciated

no, the sound is still using the wave forms from the instruments stored 
on the rom.

I have tested that this morning. But as the rom i have bought isn't enable with my OS, i can't tell if the presets were remembered if i have made some users presets.
I have pull out all of my cards and when i replace them in my xl7 all my presets users have been remembered.
