Feedback anyone?

Feedback anyone?

2004-10-04 by mike

I did some work on my original 32 measure tune. Anyone interested
can check it out here:

http://f1.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/mikedancy

It's in the "contest" folder and I renamed it "Darvocett Effect"
(The reason for the name is
that I was taking those -and still am- to kill the pain of the kidney
stone I have.

I like what I did, although I'm not sure it all flows together like
it should. I had recorded
straight into my Powerbook, then added a few GarageBand loops- mostly
at the end.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

howdy Mike,

rather nice - lots of syncopation going on there. it is mixed a bit dry for
my taste - a bit more reverb might have put it into a space of its own.
regardless of that, very nifty. certainly better than what i was going to do
(and i didn't have a Command Station for about a month, so i have a good
excuse. plus i think i mentioned the bit about the hungry dog.).

Thanks for checking it out, Bruddah Max. Mixing is still new to me. When you add reverb
do you apply to just drums, or the whole thing? I know I still have sound levels to even out
as well. As soon as I'm feeling better I'll get to work tweaking.

Best bet for reverb is to set up a send track with the reverb. That way
you can apply just little bit of here and there to certain tracks. I
definitely wouldn't apply it to the whole track or just the drums, but of
course that always depends on the song too.

Thanks realm, I'll check it out. I haven't messed with the effects in the emu yet. I feel bad
that I've had the thing for almost a year and hardly know all of the amazing things it's
capable of doing. I'll read through more of the manual this afternoon.

Check the FAQ as well, there's a section in there about how to set up send
effects that may help you too.
