Deleting Patterns

2001-12-25 by boomtap

I uploaded those midi files from EMU website that stated that Mo
Phatt midi files would work with the MP7...well I couldn't get it to
work. I have 98SE and that software Eloader keeps freezing up. And on
top of that my MP7 show the name of that midi file and # 000. I'm
trying to delete it but it won't go away. I need help..is there
anyone who could help me Thanx!

The files on the E-mu site are MoPhatt *Presets* for MP-7, not Sequences.
E-Loader is only used to transfer Sequences, not Presets. You must use an
external Sequencer to download those Presets. Just open the preset file in
your computer sequencer and 'Play' the file to transfer the Presets.

That being said, E-Loader should not 'freeze up' if you attempt to download
that file. It should just send the file to a Pattern or Song location.
Technically, that should 'work' and make a pattern/song that only contains
the preset sysex info in it (no note info). If you then play the sequence on
your MP7, it should (?) also load the presets. But that is not really what
you want (and is not a technically supported way to get presets into the
unit). As far as that goes, have you ever successfully transferred sequences
to/from your unit with E-Loader?
