Ok I seem to be getting several biased replies on the RS7000 forums so here it goes. I'm thinking a combo of both hardware and software is now the way to go. I can get an eMac G4 1ghz (I won't be gigging) with fast firewire audio app drive (pro audio interface)and Reason 2.5 + Ableton 3.0. I did use to own two SP808EX's and love all the cut and paste up manipulation but always wanted more tracks etc etc etc etc... So I was going to sell a fully otioned RS7000 to fund it. Here is what I would keep. Waldorf Micro Q ER-1 EleVata Emu EII+ HD (w/880+ disk sound library) ppg, fairlight,ZZT,art of noise,wasp,arp,vcs3,moog,jupiter samples etc etc etc.... MP-7 (w/ XL lead ,Vintage Pro and Protean Drum ROMS) Yamaha O1V Yamaha AW16G Edirol controller keyboard Bass guitar (fretless upright z-bass) 2*MC300 effects units. Effectively using the Mac w/ Reason 2.5 and Live 3.0 to replace the RS7000 (I will also get the Metasynth/Xx/Metrack bundle at later date). To me this sounds like a very reasonable and damn fine compromise. What do you all think ? Any feedback appreciated. Thanks.
