ROM boxes don't do 'real' instruments very well - IMO they just don't
work.
The electronic textures and instruments are passable, but nothing
compared to a real VA or A box. The convenience factor of a portable,
stage friendly box makes this worthwhile, but forget about real acoustic
instruments - they just can't do them without sounding 'midi'.
They do, however, do drums well.
If you want 'real' instruments, get a pc and some kind of disk streamed
sampler software.
