Non-command station OS question.

Non-command station OS question.

2003-09-16 by robertabrownjr

I got my Virtuoso 2000 in today that I bought used. It came with OS
1.21 and I was thinking about upgrading the OS from the Emu web
site. The only OS available is 2.26. I am trying to remember if this
is the OS that adds beat mode, and takes away part of the user patch
memory. I don't really need beat mode. That is why I have the XL-7.
I do want to keep my 512 user patch locations. Does anyone know if
this is the OS I want to stay away from. Is there any real need for
me to upgrad from OS 1.21? I plan to move my Beat Garden ROM into
this unit, and later add the Protazoa. I am not sure if either will
require an OS upgrade.

Thanks,
Robert

None of the OSes took away user presets. In the olden days, there used
to be 127 multisetups instead of 63. Download 2.26, you'll be fine.

That's it. I guess I sacrificed half of my multisetups for the
upgrade on the P2K I owned last year. I updated the Virtuoso last
night and will be swapping in a ROM tonight.

Thanks for the reply.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
