Use song step edit just to insert the pattern you want, then put a stop
step in where you want the song to end (i.e. at bar 65 if you wanted a
64 bar song).  Then, press record, then play, then just mute/unmute
parts till your heart's content.  Note that you will have to have the
2.0 OS, as realtime mute record is a new feature (requested here!).
