I know I saw the manual within the past 6 weeks, but I think I finally threw it out. I seem to recall the MMT-8 could save individual parts and songs by pressing buttons on the unit. I think that's what you were asking about. So far, I haven't found a way to do this except through real- time recording or E-Loader. (And I have looked for undocumented sysex commands. So far, I learned that you CAN access pattern and song NAMES via sysex. Perhaps the next OS upgrade will have the ability to dump patterns and songs from the front panel or via sysex. My MMT-8 hasn't worked in about 8-10 years. So I'm not current with its capabilities. The command station user interface is different, and it doesn't have those rubbery buttons that sometimes didn't work on th MMT-8 unless you pressed it just right. I don't recall if the MMT-8 could record, edit, and transmit sysex commands. I still haven't been able to find a way to do that on the E-Mu. I believe the command station sequencer can do most of what the MMT-8 could do. However, I seem to recall the MMT-8's user interface as being easier to learn--pehaps because it was slightly more intuitive, because it has the flip up quick reference guide, or because I'm older and my mind doesn't work any more for learning new stuff. 8-(> Dr. Steve
