From the MIDI menus you can initiate dumps--such as preset dumps and a few others. The preset dumps are in a format so you can reload them to the same location they came from. For dumping and restoring multisetups, read the recent discussion by searching archives. Dr. Steve

I recommend it. (See files for PDF on E-Loader.) If you don't have 1.1, it should be available at www.emu.com. Hope this helps. Dr. Steve

Thanks for your answer steve, I do know that it can transmit presets, multisetups and other stuff, but I wanted to know if you can transmit midi messages, notes and patterns like the way mmt-8 can.I know you can do it via computer through e loader, but to me its not clear in the manual that it can send patterns. I know I saw the manual within the past 6 weeks, but I think I finally threw it out. I seem to recall the MMT-8 could save individual parts and songs by pressing buttons on the unit. I think that's what you were asking about. So far, I haven't found a way to do this except through real- time recording or E-Loader. (And I have looked for undocumented sysex commands. So far, I learned that you CAN access pattern and song NAMES via sysex. Perhaps the next OS upgrade will have the ability to dump patterns and songs from the front panel or via sysex. My MMT-8 hasn't worked in about 8-10 years. So I'm not current with its capabilities. The command station user interface is different, and it doesn't have those rubbery buttons that sometimes didn't work on th MMT-8 unless you pressed it just right. I don't recall if the MMT-8 could record, edit, and transmit sysex commands. I still haven't been able to find a way to do that on the E-Mu. I believe the command station sequencer can do most of what the MMT-8 could do. However, I seem to recall the MMT-8's user interface as being easier to learn--pehaps because it was slightly more intuitive, because it has the flip up quick reference guide, or because I'm older and my mind doesn't work any more for learning new stuff. 8-(> Dr. Steve
