No, multi.syx can be received from other menus. I just suggested being at the Restore menu so you can see the number that the multi was assigned to when you saved it (so you can save it to the same location). BTW, if you send multi.syx while other stuff is going on (pattern play/audtion/etc.) you may get undesirable results. :-( >>>Right, I wouldn't be plaing the XL-7 while trying to send it sysex :) <<< I'm not sure what SX is, but if you can do it that way great. >>>Steinberg's Cubase SX. Beginning to think this might be a SX issue and not a XL-7 one after playing with it some more last night. I can see the Multi data and even the names of the Multi's in SX's sysex editor, but it still won't send it to my midi out port, even if I split them up individually. Anyone know of a free app that will send midi files? I heard that Media Player does this, but I couldn't find the option to select a MIDI port anywhere in that program???? <<< If you get to the point where you'd rather be making music ;-0 I'd be willing to try extracting the multis with debug (or perhaps with an old version of Cakewalk). >>>Thanks, on their way to you as we speak (er...type) <<< Hmmmm. Maybe I should be asking people on the board what features they might want in a standalone computer utlity. I'll put complete backup/restore (except for viewing angle) on the wish list. >>> - A bulk dump all feature, something that will store EVERYTHING in the XX-7's in one go, regardless of how long it takes. - Bulk dump all Presets. - Preset Librarian faetures, making it easier to reorganize your Presets. <<< (Perhaps someone at E-Mu is working on E-Loader 2.0 to include this and other features using the USB port.) >>>Very doubtful, haven't even heard from Scott Ruda (E-Loader designer) in a long time. <<< rEalm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
