I know, but you made it sound like your method precluded using my trick. If you don't care which note your drums are on because you never edit them live, or because you have a very good memory, then it doesn't matter. But if you transpose the sound you want to use to C4 before you record your track then you get the best of both worlds. But maybe you Chicago-ites like to make things difficult for yourselves.
