Tempo changes will cause some "zipper noise" ONLY when using tempo-synced delay FX (such as the tempo-based delay). This noise is an unfortunate side effect (no pun intended) of changing the taps along the delay line. You'll also hear these ticks if you manually change the FXB delay length while playing (not common). If you don't have the most recent OS (1.32), you should get it as there were enhancements to this in the 1.3 and later OSes.
