One Sneaky setup

2003-01-29 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

Now, what if I got one of these two (Which is better)
SuperNova2 Keyboard version
or
Virus KC5 Keyboard version

>>>Depends on what you want. They both sound amazing, and do the analog
emulation thing quite well. <<<

If I get this set up, I'm going to need a sequencer, something I have no
idea how to do on a PC. My question is, if I do this set up, can I use
either of these keyboards as the controller for the Orbit3? If so, how
will it work?

>>>Yes, both of those keyboards will work as controllers (ie, you can play
the virus and make it trigger sounds in the Orbit). You'll still be
without a sequencer though, as neither keyboard has one. <<<

Does this "1024 programs (256 User / 768 ROM / 128 Multi" Mean that the
Virus has 1024 individual sounds?

>>>Yes, and they're excellent. My vote would be for you to first get a
Command Station so that you have a sequencer, not to mention a really good
synth too. You can always add the cards from the Orbit3 later on if you
really want, though I think you'll be quite surprised at the sounds that
come with the XX-7's and maybe not want new cards right away. I would
also suggest maybe one of the two synth you mentioned previously to
compliment that, you can't go wrong with either, and you'll have way more
synthesis power with both macvhines to ever get tired of the sounds. <<<
