About a year and a half ago I built a very large subwoofer for my home stereo. I had two clear (!) AR 12" drivers that I had left over from a friend's pair of speakers. I went through the *very* long process of deducing all of the Thiele-Small parameters (this took a very long time with two meters, a high-power resistor, an amp, a temporary box, variable frequency generator...). Then I built this huge box (about 3.5'x2.2'x1.3') with two 2" ports tuned to 18 (yes 18!) hertz. I wanted to push as much of the group delay and phase anomalies out of the audible band, while retaining an almost flat response down to about 15Hz. I also put a blue 60w light bulb inside so it lights the drivers from the back. In any case, very few things actually cause the air in the tubes to be noticeable, as things resonating at 18Hz is usually uncommon. Your song however, had enough low frequency energy to almost knock the liquor bottles off the shelf above! Good to know that the sub works! Cool song... -Aaron __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.yahoo.com
