This does not work.  The XX-7 channel output assignment will simply force
all MIDI data recorded on that track to play on the assigned channel.  it
does not filter out the off-channel notes.  You still need to cut/erase the
off-channel data which can only be accomplished in the XX-7 using the
select-by-note-range edit command features.
