From what it sounds like, it will not solve your issue.  Hard to say 
without using the feature. This will just let users restart the current 
pattern without having to hit Stop x3, then Play.  So yes it will restart 
the MPC, but it will also restart your XX-7 at the same time.   May or may 
not work for your situation, hard to tell what you're ultimately trying to 
do live.

Restart/Fire key combo:  hold play and press stop as often as you
want to restart the current sequence or instantly start playing the
queued sequence
