1. I do not recall seeing any literature from E-mu promising to update any O.S. Perhaps it could be argued that such has become expected of any synth being released these days where the O.S. can be upgradeable over midi, but still, I don't recall any promises. >>>An OS update hasn't been promised until just a coupel days ago. Still, even that's not official yet. So you were right there Ravi! <<< 3. I am very happy to be looking forward to a new O.S., but I am usually equally happy to hear (strange as it may sound) that a final o.s. has landed, faults and all, that there will be no more, EVER! It allows me to stop thinking about features or lack of features and just get on with using the instrument and focusing on what is good. >>>Agreed, since the last OS that took care of most of the XL-7's bugs, I've just been happy to use it. It's a great tool. NO piece of gear will ever have every feature that everyone wants, even after OS 2.0 comes out, we know that there will still be some people who want MORE! Be happy, you got a great piece of gear that is arguably a lo better than when you bought it (I don't mean you Ravi, but all of us). <<< "Thanks Sean, thanks E-mu" >>>Thanx to Aaron and Scott too, all three of whom are some of the coolest people I've met. Emu provides better tech support and list presence that any other company I've dealt with, we should all be happy about that. They even dropped the ball about the OS update before they were supposed to, just to make us happy, and to meet their promises to us. Somethign they didn't have to do, and I wager something their bosses would not be happy about if they found out.<<< p.s. C'mon hurry up, get cracking on the O.S. upgrades pronto!! damn it! No good dead goes unpunished. If you don't hurry I will write bad reviews!! :) >>>Yeah, right, where the hell's that OS? Emu sucks, damn waste of my time! I bought this unit expecting it to cook breakfast for me, what the hell? Where's my eggs!!!! :) <<< rEalm
