I think he means lo-fi as in low fidelity.  A lot of effects processors 
have this, it sounds like you lower the bit depth to make the sound 
'grungy'.  I don't know of a way to do this with the XX-7's though. 

Actually, I tihnk there's a band pass filter called 'radio something or 
other' that MIGHT do it.

by "lo-fi" i assume you mean some sort of lowpass filtering?  for 
that, there's nothing better than a sherman filterbank - it's totally
