Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Is it possible to have a pattern change to the next on the fly but 
maintain the mute/unmute channel status of the currently playing 
pattern? I.e., if while working a pattern in a live setting, can I 
break down to say just the kick and then switch patterns, having the 
next one kick in with just the kick so then I can start unmuting and 
build up into something new?

Also, was I hallucinating or did I read somewhere about the ability 
to cue up more than one pattern in a row in a live setting while in 
pattern play mode (or was it on the wishlist pages)?

Sorry if these features are one page after where I am up to the 
manual! TIA.
