Mmmm, understood, I guess I was assuming that a 'slicer' effect was more of a modulable gater or stutter effect....it could still be fun to do something like this useing different randomized lfo shapes on separate layers though, could be like a continuous morphing machine or something. The slicer effect has a tone of ramping slices and other features that would be pretty hard to emulate with LFO's, or tempo locked envelopes (I've tried). rEalm You could probably set up an lfo to work as a controllable slicer fx....as I have stated earlier, I havent dug into the XL7's patch editing too much yet (been WAY to busy), but from what I have seen in it, I'm sure it could be done!
