You should most definately have Rechannelize turned *off*. You should also have MIDI merge *off* for any port returning to the computer. You might want local control *off* and keyboard & knobs output midi *on* if you've got thru on in your sequencer and still want to play stuff on the XL-7. Check out page 22 of the manual addendum <http://www.emu.com/products/pdf/pdf_manuals/xl7/CommandStation131.pdf> for an example of all the settings applicable.
