Look into a Lexicon MPX100, awesome box for the cash. The new Zoom EFX
are pretty good too.

I just ordered a gate/compressor for ablout $160. 4 channels. Now
I'm needing to get an outboard effects box. I need somthing with
distortion, a nice VERB, and other fx.

be a very cool (if unlikely) feature! can you route a sound through
the EFX and then into an external compressor? Only if you use the
master outs, anything plugged into the subouts automatically
deisconnects the EFX send from that out.
