Re: [xl7] Compressors 'n' shit -

2002-05-15 by Jonathan El-Bizri

In my live rig, I run each side of the output separately, pan everything hard right and left, to get 4 sends out of the unit, plus the one of the internal effects.
The main mix runs through a stero + bass compression except for one channel of drums, which gets it's own compression, something I added recently, greatly imprving the sound.
You can add a pair of compressors to your signal chain for about a hundred bucks, and much more interesting effects to your unit for about the same price, so why wish for the impossible?

No, there' no internal compressor in the XL-7, though that would be a very cool (if unlikely) feature! can you route a sound through the EFX and then into an external compressor? Only if you use the master outs, anything plugged into the subouts automatically deisconnects the EFX send from that out.

While I am waiting for my unit i have a couple questions. Does the
XX-7 have a compressor in it?

If not, is it possible to run a sound through internal fx, then to an
outboard compressor?
