This is my opinion...dam how do you spell that? I have been reading you guys going back and forth and it is rely a debate that could go on for ever. I am getting some what near to a point where I can operate with out my computer all together but I am going backwords in the minds of most people out there. I had always used my computer in all steps of making music up untill about seven months ago. Computers can be great but they have some serious problems. The way i see it is like this. Computers make great audio work stations. What I am talking about here is recording music. When it is time to master what you have made dam get it in the computer, if possable run what ever sound card you have with some kind of tube if at all possable to warm it up a bit. The reason I say this is becouse the software that i have used to do this has been very stable and has almost never caused me problems and it is super cheap even if you go out and spend like 3000 on plugins, it is noting when you compare it to the external gear. Also once your work is done it is burned to a disc and is safe from crashes. When it coms to playing music I would rather use a musical tool than a mouse, or some controller that is never going to be as tight as you want it to be. Also the software that I have used for making tracks has been very tricky to keep working. I have used almost evry version of logic since 3.1 and they are just getting more and more complicated to keep working. I have lost my work more times than I would like to mention using logic on a pc and it just hurts. And when you are working for cash and you have many people depending on you this is totaly not excptable in my life. It is just way to much stress. well I could go on for days but that is my basic thought on this one. Peace Mike G.
