It's not like I'm comparing it to a fender strat. They are both 'all in one' sequencizers. >But real synths like the XL-7 together with other synthesizers, >samplers, mixers and effect proceesors in a real hardware rack is far >better than Reason imho. That's why I prefer the XL-7. It's just a >bit more expencive. A bit? Yes. But I've already got a 25 spaces of gear, 4 pedalboards and the obligatiory bunch of miscellaneous crap in my 'stripped down' live rig :/ Besides, for me, the real strong point of Reason is it's more complete level of interactivity, not the tones. From something that you control with a mouse, no less :/ When I can figure out a way to control it from the XL-7, or vice versa, that isn't too clunky, I think I'll be in heaven. >Also, real synths is more fun to bring to stage. Loads more fun. The last gig I did, the guys ahead of me took an hour and a half to set up for sound check, for a 45 minutes set. Fortunately, I take 10 minutes to bring my gear in, set up and sound check, or I wouldn't have been able to play at all; they weren't halfway through breaking down when I started :> bIz
