been following the thread.... there is one disadvantage of using the effects in "master mode" as opposed to having them tied to a preset in one midi channel.... or at least, this has been my experience.... I sometimes like to use a controller to alter effects parameters, & I can't get this to work with the master effects selection. I try sending the appropriate controllers on the global channel but nothing happens. (for instance, I have a berlin-school-type sequencer voice that I want to fade away & add reverb at the same time. I can set a single controller to do this if the effects are in a preset, but in master effects mode I can't make it work.) I have got into the habit of using channel 16 for presets that contain my effects. this is in a live (concert) situation, where using the proteus' own effects is a matter of expediency. at home, of course, one can augment or supplant them with outboard units; I use a great british spring reverb & a line6 echo-pro. :-) duncan.
