IIRC, only the "ultra" series samplers can burn the blank ROMs.

on a similar topic, does anyone know where i can find "sample CDs" of the 
emu ROMs? i'm not interested in getting into a bidding war on ebay to fill 
xl-7 with the classic ROMs when, in theory, i should be able to download 
and burn all of them for almost free. sure, i wouldn't be able to use them 
in my xl7, but i could use them in my a4000.
