In omni mode, it uses preset FX.  You really should be in multi mode.

To get the midi in port up to the B channels, go to the MIDI IN CHANNELS
screen (5th screen in the MIDI menu) and select "B".  Now everything coming
in the midi port will go to channels 1-16B instead of A.
