I just checked the sysex manual to see if there might be a way to assign midi channels individually to each of the 32 synth channels. However, unless there are some undocumented parameters for this, youi cannot fool the synth engine via sysex. Aaron once spelled out which parameters the linked presets inherit from the main preset definition and which parameters they don't. I think this was part of an explanation of why linked presets sound different when linked as opposed to when they are used individually. This might or might not affect your design of your presets.
