I think the problem is happening because the Merge Midi In to Out is not set properly. What happens is the MIDI coming from the sequencer or XL-7 gets caught in a MIDI loop. The information being received gets copied and sent backout, which is recieved, copied, and sent backout again. That causes the effect of delay or in most cases MIDI crash, in which the midi signal is to large and the system freezes or becomes stuck. Press the MIDI button on your XL- 7, scroll till the screen reads MERGE MIDI IN TO OUT and make sure the midi output going from your XL-7, back to the sequencer is turned OFF. Hope this helps.
