I also keep it for the sounds... And because it is valuable... so i'm not planning to throw it (yet). The solution was to turn the thing off, work on another project for a couple of days, and then turn it on again. And it was working...

  mine has the same issue. I hate it, infact mine has problems with any 
  drum patterns. the timing will be just a bit off, like between the 
  loop, a tiny payse or something is making it sound all messed up.
  It's frusterating me to no end and im seriously thinking of throwing 
  mine out the windo too...... it's just that it sounds so good i can't 
  bring myself to.
