Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi everyone

I need some guidance about recording with the MP7.

Here's what we currently do....

Create song and sequence live and record the audio output,
nice, quick and easy, trouble is we need to move things up a gear
coz the resulting mixdowns tend to be "grubby" coz of the lack of
eq on each instrument playing.

What we want to do is really record each part separatley and sequence,
eq and mixdown in our recording software.

Trouble is this takes forever.

So is it better to record the midi data separately, ie 
can we sequence live but record the midi data for each instrument
on its own midi track then use the resulting data to record the audio
out as individual audio tracks ? 

We really need a quick and clean method for recording so that our 
mixdowns are bright clean.
