Re: Changes in sound when recording

2005-02-17 by Fab Claxton

Hmmmm....I don't know, honestly. I'm using the same cables (1/4")
that I use to plug a guitar into an amp, or my mic preamp into the
AW16G. I mostly only hook up the mono (right) output of the XL-7
into the AW16G. But like I said - if I unplug the cable from the
mono output and plug it into the headphone jack - the sound is
unchanging and crystal clear. That's what makes me think it's not
the cables, but the outputs. What's the difference between balanced
and unbalanced cables? I don't even know which kind I have.
