Patterns and songs can be stored on the computer's hard drive and then burned to CD-R, RWs. They will be stored as standard midi files. The size of each file depends on the data stored in the pattern. I have never backed up an e-mu sequencer that was at 0% remaining, so I have no idea how big the total of all patterns and songs can be.
