Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Good morning,
I've used E-Loader to upgrade the OS, but never to back-up patterns. 
I have a couple of questions for you:

1) How much memory does it takes to back up patters? Let's say that 
I wanted to back-up one pattern that was 32 bars long. How much 
memory on the computer would that take up? The reason I ask is that 
I'll be using my friend's computer to store these back-ups. 

2) Is there any way to burn these back-ups onto a CD once they're on 
the computer (just so we're VERY sure that we'll still have these 
patterns - even if something goes horribly wrong with his PC)?
