If you have a PC and want to test-drive out a demo version to see how it works, check out http://members.aol.com/caldor2004/patchpro/ . The demo will not save banks of presets, but you will get a feel for the software. There are other editors which some users have discussed here as well. > 2. how to i embed sysex data in my track, i have a mk-6 and when i > send the data it says sent, but if i change the preset on the mk-6 > then play back the px-7 which is "suppose" to have the sysex, it > won't change the preset, is it possible to store the patch > locations of my mk-6 in the pattern on my px-7 or do i have to > save a multisetup on the mk-6 each time i use sounds from it in my > tracks (1) It sounds like you want to store a prgram change [preset change] command, not embedded sysex data. (2) The command stations/P2500 do not have a sysex data editor, so you cannot edit sysex data in your tracks. (3) They do have an event editor which you can use to insert or edit program schanges [preset changes]. Here's how: -->Press Edit Pattern. -->Scroll to the EVENT <-> menu. -->Press Enter. -->Select the track where you want to insert the program change command. -->Press Repeat to insert an event. -->Rotate the type of event until you see prog:0 [You can also change the time and the channel.] Bank switching works as follows: msb [m;] selects your ROM [User = 0] lsb [l:] selects the bank EXAMPLE: -------------------------- T02 EVENT <-> 003.01.000 C07 prog:85 m:66 l:1 -------------------------- At measure 3, beat 1, tick 0 on track 2 there is a program change command to change the preset on midi channel 7 to 085^1 of the Advanced Orchestra ROM (m:66). Foot notes: (1) You can recall multis using this command. Simply use m:80. Be sure to save your current setup first, otherwise it will be overwritten. (2) To send program changes to external gear, CHANNEL ASSIGN must be set to >ext<. If you select >both<, the program change will not go out to your external gear. Hope this helps. --Steve > this is one thing i couln't figure out, i've had my mk-6 for over > two years and i used it with a kawai q-80, but i could never > figure this out, so i jus saved a multi for each song i did,and > recalled it for the proper sequence > > help?
