Since I have the P2500, I will defer to others on this--I don't have pads. I use external controllers. One of the flow charts from one of the OS Addendas shows the logical flow of the pads. Perhaps it is the latest XL-7 manual. This might help. There are two paths for the pads--one through the KEYBOARD TRANSMIT MIDI (on/off) menu, the other through LOCAL CONTROL. The synth engine seems to get data from the pads (1) when RECHANNELIZE is off and (2) when set to int via Sequencer Track Routing. It would seem that if you have RECHANNELIZE to always and route a particular track to external gear, only the external gear should sound from the pads. The chart does not lead me to believe the pads are hardwired to either the internal synth engine or to channels 1- 16A. However, I will gladly defer to Command Station owners. Again, since I have the P2500, I can't test this, but based on the chart, this might be what you are looking for. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Brock Hiroshima wrote: > okay how do I program/record on 1-16B using just the > midi pads and not trigger the sounds from 1-16a?
