Re: [xl7] Re: Setup for Sequencing Hell

2005-01-31 by Brock Hiroshima

okay how do I program/record on 1-16B using just the
midi pads and not trigger the sounds from 1-16a? I
want to be able to hear the sounds of my outboard gear
on the pads w/o the internal sounds of the Xl-7...I
turned 1-16a to INT and 1-16b to ext and I still get
playback from 1-16a.....also since I've changed to
recording on the back 1-16b channels howcome the
tracks on 1-16a are still lit up in the in the command
functions section

thanks guys

Well, the sequencer has 16 tracks. Each track can be
assigned to MultiA,
Multi B, or any of the 32 channels between MIDI Out A
and MIDI Out B.

By default the A1-A16 channels are set to INT for the
internal synth, but
this can be changed in the pattern edit menu to EXT
for any of the available
channels and INT or EXT as needed, and then this info
is saved with the
pattrn. So it's not like external gear can only be on
the MIDI Out B -
that's just how it is by default.

Right? Or am I missing something. I've been using my
XL-7s in this way for a
while now without ever encountering any restrictions
on track destination...
