Re: [xl7] Re: Setup for Sequencing Hell

2005-01-29 by Brock Hiroshima

I have about five sound modules and would like to
setup the XL-7 to trigger each module since a friend
of mine who's a drummer has been making tracks with
me(those pads are working great!) how would I assign
different midi channels coming out of 1-16B and is the
midi very tight?

thanks

I know there are some differences between the two sets
of
channels/ports (Port A out and Port B out), but I
don't think this
is one of them as far as channel assign goes.

Channel assign can be used to designate each track to:
-- 16 channels on Port A [MultiA]
-- 16 channels on Port B [MultiB]
-- any of 32 single channels [01A --> 16B]

I seem to recall Aaron mentioning some of the
differences between
the two sets of channels--perhaps that the 16
controller knobs in
Volume and Pan mode only affect internal sounds on
Channels 01A -->
16A, but not 01B --> 16B and not external gear on
either midi port.

However, there is more flexibility with the knobs in
programmable
mode.

Thanks for the reminder, Andre.
