Re: [xl7] Decision time

Thinking of jumping ship eh? Don't do it, don't do it! :) Ok, I tried to talk you out of it, but if not here's my thoughts.
First off all, be sure to carefully listen to the RS7000 before you buy, The synth architecture is no where near as deep or programmable as the XL-7, just so you know. Also, any time you're thinking of getting a new piece of gear, always jump on a mailing list first, so you can see what others think of it. That's what I did with my XL-7. I think you'll find the RS7000 has some bugs too, whether of not they're better or worse than the troubles you're having with the XL-7, only you can decide. If you're seriously looking for another "groovebox" type of set up, I'd skip the RS7000 and go witha Roland mc505, which is in my opinion the best box out there aside from the Command Stations. The sound set is 4-5 years old now though (although the program editing is pretty deep), so again listen before you buy.
The Triton LE is a different beast altogether, although a very capable on at that. I think Korg makes some fabolous sounds, so the program (Preset) quality is good IMO. The sequencer is no where near as good as ours, and the polyphony is decreased too, things to keep in mind. If you're serious about the LE, look into the Karma as well, which has more options (the karma function rocks!) for about the same price. This is probably my next synth, unless I can save enough for a SupernovaII.

Thank you alex and eric for your hints about the assumed bug fixes,
Staurday is final decision time. I am considering taking back my mp-7 for a RS7000 or the new triton Le.
How do they compare for composing (no live use)? Ease of use? Reliability? Sounds? ( I know about the sampling expansions) Gimme your two cents and I´ll pay you back sometime ;-)
