Re: [xl7] Nu rEalm Track - "Meaning For Now"

2004-11-10 by Brock Hiroshima

Realm I had some time before work this morning and got
a chance to sit down and listen to some of your tracks
.... I must say you should be shopping these around if
your not already....well produced and constructed keep
up the good work!

Meaning For Now...nice Nu Skool track! the intro
reminds me of a track I think Koma & Bones did or
PMT(wish I could remember the track name) dig the
guitar that comes in around 1:00 is that the Pod Xt? I
was thinking about getting one....have you used the
Pro version? lots of guitar used here well done (but
not overly done) like the reversed sounds....only
thing I can say is let that bass pad rip and scream
through more

We All Follow The Moon....nice deep house
track....lots of guitar again....you like those
reversed sounds ay! cool....good tone nice phaser got
that U2 Edge feel....its funny I was thinking of
getting an EH Memory Man looks like I might be giving
the Pod some serious thought now! I wish the guitar
that was underneath would have opened up for a solo
but hey thats personal preference...nicely done!

Fate is Powerless...cool 303 happenin' here...chunky
beats....nice atmosphere comin' in....cool
arps...where they from?sounds like the
Virus....breakdown is cool around 2:20...wish maybe
more came in afterwards for a more in your face
feel....overall a cool track

Drifting With Purpose- cool atmosphere in the
beginning...cool guitar melodies....dig that Virus
sound around 2:06 cuts through nicely....nice
breakdown dig the sound comin' out of it...then BAM!
in your face I dig that about break tracks....cool
subby bass under everything maybe bring that in more
to drive the track...wish it was longer....well done
track though!

I'm curious to find out how much of the Px-7 is in
these tracks....I have an Xl-7 and use it for beats
mostly...just figured out that I need to run it
through a compressor to really get it to hit....you
ever use the midi features with your Virus or any
hardware? nicely done productions! keep it up!

Hey all, here's my latest track, just finished it up
last night:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/3/innerportalmusic.htm
  "Meaning For Now"

The drums and percussion were a combination of my own
samples and sounds
from the Emu PX-7 and World Expedition ROM. All of
the synth sounds and
the bassline are from the Virus KC, though I think
you'd be surprised at
how many of the sounds are really just from the
guitar. The guitar is
myself playing an Ibanez S540 through a Line 6 Pod XT
for effects. I used
SX3 for the arranging and mixdown, and Live 4 for some
weird sample
tweaking. a UAD-1 provided all of the dynamics
processing and effects
during mixdown, and I used the new UA Precision
Limiter for the brickwall
limiting during pre-mastering.

Hope you guys enjoy this!
