Re: Just bought an MP-7

Hi
Yes you can pull the ones you dont want out and leave the Beat Garden
rom in there.
Dont think the any of the roms will acutally say what they are on
them so it could be a bit hit or miss if you leave the correct one in
there.. (not sure what code numbers would be on there either..)
The unit seems to change the order of them in respect to how it see's
them, so they dont appear in slot order.. (0, 1, 2, 3)
Theres 8 screaws underneath the unit, so flip the unit over and place
on something soft to protect the front panel knobs.
Take the formentioned screaws out, then you will be able to open the
2 halfs like a book. Carefull as there are ribbon cables between
them.. it will only open out 1 way because of these.
You will see the roms in one of the corners on the PCB, they look
like simm modules and there are 4 slots.
Unplug the unit from the mains..
Make sure you earth yourself to discharge any static that you may
have picked up of a carpet etc. The roms and the command station
could be damaged by static, its the same as changing anything in your
PC.
They unclip the same as simm memory modules, fitted is the same in
reverse.
Check to see that all the ribbon cables are pushed home as well
before re-assembly.
Make sure you tighten the screaws back down when you put the unit
back together.. you may well get an anoying hum if you dont!
Good luck!
Gonz
