Hi Matt and Turby, Thanks for replying with your ideas. It seems that it was Sysex data from the MC505, recorded into the part, and then producing some weird envelope changes on the EA1. I had the MC505 in mode 1, which is syssex mode. When I changed it to mode 2, CC mode, and then re recorded the riff, it was fine, and stayed that way after powering off. BTW, I forgot my manners: I haven't introduced myself to the group yet. I've been a long time member of the MC505 yahoo group, recently got a PX7 with the Beat Garden and XL7 ROMs, so I'm recording my older tracks to the PX7 before selling my 505.
