Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I just discovered today how to delete a step from a song.  The 
behavior is a little odd as it makes the pattern before the deleted 
one LONGER, but that is OK – I know how to fix that.  However, 
inserting a new pattern doesn't seem to work.  I can change a pattern 
in a song, and I can make a pattern longer, but when I hold REPEAT 
and then press ENTER, it acts as if I had merely pressed ENTER.  I 
have OS version 1.18 (installed today).
