1.  Track mutes buttons seem only to apply to pattern data .  Correct?

Mode.  However, if I remember correctly, they do function tha same for 
both modes regardless.  What problems are you seeing with these? <<<

2.  Volume and pan knobs seem to apply to both pattern and song data. 
Correct?

pattern and songs.  However, you can specify in the Song Edit menu whether
