yes I had thought about the rfx card problem. I was looking at the units for a little wile tonight and what I came up with would be a little different than what I was first thinking. I think if it where tobe done the atvantage would be minimal. What I was thinking was to remove the face of the E5000 and make it so it would in a sence be rack mountable seperate from the rest of the unit. The idea would be to have a setup like you have but with the front panel of the sampler flush with the xl7. The "body" of the sampler would just be sitting under the totaly intact xl. The floppy may have to be relocated as well but i think it could work.
