You suggested I could use a software sequencer to see where MIDI events are laid out exactly when studying factory sequences/patterns from the XL-7. But I didn't interpret that as an absolute requirement. I'll definitely keep it in mind when I decide on staying with Logic (even though my Big Box is still yet to be opened) vs switching to DP for my multitracking needs.
