Re: jungle drum and bass

I'm also interested in reading responses to these questions.

I got my XL7 last Friday and have been plugging along with the manual
since. The X-Lead ROM includes a demo song that is in the
jungle/drum-and-bass style - "Fire Escape". I figure I'd find a way
to copy it and study it for ideas on making jungle beats.

As implied by my first sentence, I haven't found the "best" tutorial -
but I just now did a Google search for "drum and bass tutorial" and
got lots of hits. You could also go a Google on "amen break" and get
the sample that is supposedly the most-used drum phrase sample in
jungle, and maybe try to reproduce it with the Command Station
sequencer and internal sounds. I think a lot of these websites will
suggest taking a drum phrase/loop and editing it and/or splicing
other audio files to it with a sampler or audio editor and making
breakbeats that way but I think it would be more fun and educational
do to it with the XL-7 by itself.
