Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I am sure this is going to the most lame question posted within the 
last few days.  I am awaiting my xl-7, I have ordered the protean 
drums rom.  My computer is slightly old and I don't think that it has 
a connection capable of the eloader which makes me worry because I 
want all the rom has to offer.  So could you tell me.

1. How I would find out if I am able to use midi in's and outs on my 
computer?

2. If I need hardware for this any cheap suggestions that would work 
with an older machine

3. How screwed am I without midi capabilities.  thanks for all the 
help.
